The result of a unique partnership.
In 2000, members of Immanuel joined with members from Lewinsville Presbyterian Church and Temple Rodef Shalom to promote a vision, an affordable retirement living facility in the McLean area. All three religious organizations and the National Capital Presbytery remain partners in Chesterbrook.
About Chesterbrook Residences
Chesterbrook Residences opened its doors in October 2007. It is the first and only mixed income assisted living facility in Fairfax County. Chesterbrook has 97 apartments, with 55% offered to low income seniors at below market rates. Ongoing fundraising events assure that no resident needs to leave because of financial concerns.
Spiritual Opportunities
Chesterbrook offers regular Protestant, Roman Catholic and Jewish worship services for residents and guests. One of Immanuel’s pastors leads a service each month. An ordained minister serves as the Volunteer Resident Chaplin, leads two services a month, and offers weekly ecumenical prayer services.
The Corner Store
The Chesterbrook Corner Store sells cards, and small gifts as well as basic supplies, toothpaste, and other sundries. Much of what the store sells are contributions of new or gently used items. You can contribute items through Nancy Stansberry or leave them in the collection boxes in the Meeting House.
Volunteer Opportunities
Many opportunities are available to enrich the lives of the elderly at Chesterbrook Residences, from quiet individual conversations to leading group activities, such as a book discussion.
