Children’s Education
Immanuel provides a comprehensive Children’s Education Program on Sunday mornings from Nursery Care up to age 3. We offer a challenging and energetic program for ages 4 - 6th grade.

Adult Ministry
Immanuel seeks to help adults travel a path of spiritual growth, deepening their relationship with God and equipping the to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.
Spirituality & Learning
Our comprehensive Christian Education Program at Immanuel is designed to meet the spiritual and faith development needs of all ages.
Young Adults (IPC Pathways)
IPC Pathways is for young people who have a connection to Immanuel, whether or not they are members. It is designed to access an under-utilized asset: the wisdom and experience of Immanuelites of all ages.
Small Groups
Most of these small group Spiritual Growth opportunities meets weekly via Zoom for spirited discussion and welcome new participants anytime during the year. For more information, please review the full calendar or contact the church office. We always encourage you to form new small groups. Speak to Pastor Katie for more information.
Outreach
Immanuel's Outreach is vast. From our hands-on monthly in-house sandwich making for DC Central Kitchen, to trips abroad to Peru, Mexico and Guatemala, Immanuel supports those in need in our neighborhood, the DC area, our nation and our world. Our Outreach Program is channeled through these groups:

Community Service and Action
CS&A encourages participation in and support of charitable organizations in our local community by coordinating drives for needed food and other items and annually disbursing funds to several area organizations.

Chesterbrook Residences
In 2000, Immanuel and two other McLean religious communities began realizing our dream of building an affordable, 97-apartment retirement living facility in the McLean area. Chesterbrook opened its doors in 2007.

International Mission
The International Mission Committee helps our congregation become personally involved with Presbyterians and others abroad. In the process, our Immanuel members learn about other peoples -- their faith, culture, history, economics and politics. We take mission trips, establish partnerships and disburse funds to those in need around the world.

Youth Mission
A hallmark of our youth programs is their involvement in mission. As confirmands, youth dedicate a “Day in the City,” serving the poor. For a week each summer, they travel to Pennsylvania to build with Habitat for Humanity. Our youth also participate in an annual summer reading program, as well as holiday events with our special needs friends from Langley Residential Support Services

Changing Lives/”I Have a Dream” Program
Since 1995, this program has forged strong bonds between members of Immanuel and families in and around Anacostia, in Washington, DC. Our covenant with the students in our program: if you complete high school, we will pay for post secondary schooling or job training.

MONTHLY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteer as a gardener-of-the-week from May-September! All produce is donated weekly to SHARE of McLean where our neighbors shop (without charge!) for food and clothing. Contact office@ipcmclean.org for further information.
In partnership with Temple Rodef Shalom and Lewinsville Presbyterian Church, in 2007, Immanuel founded Chesterbrook Residences, a mixed-income, assisted living facility in Falls Church. A wide variety of service opportunities are always available at Chesterbrook! Contact Nancy Stansberry for details at nastansberry@cox.net.
Volunteers are needed to drive seniors to medical appointments and take them grocery shopping.
Volunteers are also needed to make companionship visits or phone calls. (Contact Rob Stotz for more information.)

QUARTERLY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
Join us once a quarter for morning or evening worship followed by a hands-on mission project! Many hands make light work!
Once a quarter, our Community Service & Action Committee provides approximately $1,500 in supplies for the congregation to package, sort, or make-and-take. Projects include making disaster clean-up kits for Church World Service distribution, creating “welcome home” supplies kits for Ukrainian refugee families resettling in Northern Virginia, packaging take-home meals for summer school students in Falls Church facing food insecurity, making “blessing bags” for Immanuelites to distribute along their daily commutes to our neighbors experiencing homelessness, and more.

Immanuel youth host seasonal parties and provide summer tutoring for our friends from Langley Residential Support Services (LRSS). LRSS serves adults with intellectual disabilities, their families and our communities by providing quality residential and community support services that enable these individuals to live valued, productive lives. YEARLY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
Each December, Immanuel hosts 40 of our neighbors experiencing homelessness, providing a safe place to sleep, meals, entertainment, bus pass re-loads and more. Volunteers are trained every fall. Beginning in the fall, check your E-Presence for training dates/times and volunteer sign-ups.
Each November, Immanuel collects gifts and gift cards for the children of Alternative House, Bright Beginnings, Children of Mine, Falls Church-McLean Children’s Center, Mary House, SHARE, and families identified by Garden Memorial Presbyterian.
Every year Immanuel joins with our friends at Garden Memorial to prepare Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets to 15 families in need. We also provide Thanksgiving baskets for 15 families at Children of Mine and supermarket gift cards to 35 families at McLean/Falls Church Children’s Center.
Join us for this intergenerational mission trip experience for one week every June in Chambersburg, PA and Hagerstown, MD! Contact Pastor Emma Horn for details!
