Young Adult 3K Challenge – Kiva.org Giving Update

So far, Immanuel young adults have utilized $1,273 dollars on www.kiva.org to make $1,475 dollars in loans to people across the world.  How is that possible, you ask?  When we make a kiva microloan, beneficiaries repay those loans slowly over time so that donors can reinvest those dollars as other microloans.

Between now and April, Immanuel young adults have the opportunity loan an additional $1,700 through Kiva microloans! Join us at the next Young Adult Trivia Night (February 21 and March 21 at 8:00 pm at Clare and Don’s Beach Shack in Falls Church) to decide which microloans we will finance next.

Can’t make it to trivia nights and want to participate?  Email Pastor Katie with a link to the microloan that you would like Immanuel to sponsor, along with the amount that you hope Immanuel young adults would invest—from $25-200 per microloan!

The microloans Immanuel young adults have made so far have assisted women and children with… higher educational costs, primary/secondary school costs, farming, sewing, laundry, health, personal medical expenses, and more.
