Mindful Medicine: Meditations on Darkness and Resilience – Episode Two

How can we welcome heartbreak? In this second episode of Mindful Medicine: Meditations on Darkness and Resilience, Sarah Sherman, Immanuel’s Music Assistant for Children and Youth, invites you to consider the brokenness of your heart. In today’s meditation, Sarah guides the listener through questions of fear and loss and reads an excerpt from Rabbi Allan Lew’s book This is Real and You are Completely Unprepared.

Mindful Medicine: Meditations on Darkness and Resilience focuses on emotional responses to loss and tragedy, using mindfulness and wellbeing practices to help handle darkness, increase emotional and psychological resilience, counter stress, and boost immunity.

Sarah Sherman joined Immanuel as Music Assistant in October 2016. Sarah graduated with a degree in Music from the University of Virginia, and is thrilled to be working with the young people at Immanuel!
