Making Room: Document Shredding

“Although I have much to write to you, I would rather not use paper and ink; instead I hope to come to you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete.”

2 John 1:12

Today’s eco-tip comes from Immanuel member Susan Gregory

Sort and recycle your old papers today. For sensitive papers that cannot be recycled, take them to a secure document shredding event. Fairfax County Solid Waste Management sponsors a secure document shredding event in each district every year. Go to www.fairfaxcounty.gov for details.

Here’s a prayer for today:

God of the Good News
Thank you for giving us good words to share
Thank you for the writing that holds us together:
Letters of love, scribbled notes of justice, postcards of peace
All words that tether our souls to your just longings

Help us to care for the paper of this earth, as well
That we might share your good news with others
And tend to this world
As you have so gently tended to us
Amen
