SERVICE SUNDAY
Many Afghan families resettling in the NOVA area are still waiting for SNAP benefits (food stamps) after rapid rehousing, and/or the amount provided quickly runs out before the end of the month and it is difficult to feed their families while getting settled and finding employment. Community Service & Action Committee invites you to a “Service Sunday” project on March 6th!
Part 1 at 11:00am: We will be PACKING the food boxes after morning worship service, so stop by the tables outside and pack a box with everything included on the list near the boxes. No sign up needed!
Part 2 at 2pm: We will be DISTRIBUTING the boxes at 2:00pm in partnership with our friends from Lewinsville Presbyterian Church. Our goal is to bring at least 30 boxes to 30 different families in Fairfax county, so we’ll divide up the addresses, fill our cars and SUVs with boxes, and then spend the afternoon delivering food to our Afghan neighbors.
