A few quick reminders…

•  Immanuel will be requiring masks for indoor worship services, regardless of vaccination status, starting Sunday, August 1st. Worship will continue to be livestreamed from the sanctuary each Sunday as well, and we invite you to worship in-person or online as you feel comfortable.

We give thanks for Immanuel’s Covid-19 Team for guiding us in how to worship together as safely as possible during this season of emerging data regarding the highly transmissible Delta variant. The decision to return to masking whenever indoors on the church campus is based on a number of factors and considerations including, but not limited to the 129% case increase in Fairfax County over the last two weeks (using the 14-day moving average used by the Virginia Public Department of Health).

Thank you for loving your neighbor by wearing a mask in worship! We will keep you updated as our masking policy for worship shifts in the future. We love seeing your smiling faces!

•   The balcony will be reserved for families with children 12 and under so that children (who cannot yet be vaccinated) are able to be with fellow young families.

•   The “Amen Corner” (the area near the baptismal font, directly across the choir loft) will be reserved for adults or families who prefer to be seated with others who are masking.

We are continuing to work towards reinstating the evening service. Stay tuned for more information to come regarding the Fellowship Hour and the return of the choir!

This is a lot of information and of course, you do not need to remember it all! The Worship Committee will have ushers in place to help us all as we gather together again inside. We are excited about being able to worship indoors again!

Our goal as a community of faith is to move forward compassionately, recognizing that everyone has different comfort levels during this season of transition. Please note that we’ll soon be live-streaming video of our Sunday morning worship services for those who would prefer to watch and participate from home.
