Ash Wednesday Worship Service
This “paperless” worship service will begin in the Meeting House and will move into the sanctuary as we turn our hearts toward God through engaging the meaning of Lent. It will include the imposition of ashes followed by communion, with music and liturgy reflective of the Iona tradition throughout. Worship will begin with placing our “offerings” (brought with us to worship) of dried beans and canned green vegetables that will be distributed to Afghan refugee families resettling in our region. These offerings will be added to the food boxes that Immanuelites will be packing and delivering on Sunday, March 6th at the “Service Sunday” marking the first Sunday in Lent.
