Children’s Ministry Committee

The Children’s Ministry Committee works closely with the Associate Pastor for Children’s and Youth Ministry to nurture the faith of children birth-5th grade by offering opportunities for education, worship, and fellowship. Ongoing projects of this committee include children Sunday School, seasonal children’s programming, and Immanuel Family Sundays. This committee also leads occasional projects such as summer programming and other special events for children and their families during the year.

Youth Ministries Committee

The Youth Ministries Committee works closely with the Associate Pastor for Children’s and Youth Ministries. This committee nurtures the faith of youth in 6th- 12th grade by offering opportunities for education, worship, and fellowship. Ongoing and occasional projects of this committee have included Confirmation, Youth Sunday, the Summer Habitat for Humanity Trip and other service and fellowship events for middle and high school youth as well as their families.

Spirituality and Learning Committee

The Spirituality and Learning Committee is the focal point for spiritual growth and learning opportunities for adults in our congregation. These opportunities vary greatly and include educational forums offered on Sundays often with special speakers including those from the Reformed Institute. We have a number of small groups that meet weekly to discuss the Bible and other books of interest, as well as groups that gather during Lent and Advent and Lent to study and discuss a book of particular interest. We have led trips to special places of interest such as museums in the Washington, DC area and an especially meaningful trip to the Equal Justice Museum and Memorial in Montgomery, Alabama in 2019. We nourish our spiritual growth by providing opportunities to share stories of our spiritual journeys through our Real World, Real Faith program and weekend spiritual retreats, as well as our weekly meditation group. We offer opportunities to commune with God’s great world through local hikes and even a pilgrimage to the Camino in Spain scheduled for June 2023. We have a robust offering in our library of topics of interest including recommendations from our pastors and congregants.
