Making Room: Paper Towels
“For there is hope for a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its shoots will not cease.” Job 14:7
Today’s eco-tip comes from Immanuel member Kevin Hovis:
God gives us little blessings like paper towels to wipe our hands when they are wet. I see so many people grabbing 4 or 5 paper towels to dry their hands. I can dry my hands with one or two. This is wasteful. It takes tress, water, and energy to make new. Just as we take time to bless and be thankful for the food God has given us, we should also be thankful for the little things, like fresh water or paper towels. By conserving resources and fully using them before disposal, we show appreciation to God for the little things.
Here’s a prayer for today:
Stewarding God
Your generosity overwhelms our comprehending
In our world of abundance
Help us to take only what we need
So that others might share
And all might be comforted
Amen
