Join us at 9:00 a.m. on Sundays January 19th and January 26th as Pastor Katie guides our small group discussions on death, dying, grief, and living well based on Dana Trent’s new book, Dessert First. Pastor Katie served as a Hospice chaplain at two inpatient hospital units during her Clinical Pastoral Education time in seminary, and will offer some reflections and takeaways from that time as complements to our small group discussions. In our small groups, we will seek to encourage dialogue on these always important, sometimes difficult, and ultimately life-giving conversations.
See the E-Presence for full details about pre-read chapters for each Sunday, full book description, and sign-up for your book order (by 1/6). Barbara Brown Taylor, author of An Altar in the World, had this to say of Dessert First: “In this disarmingly forthright and often funny book, Dana Trent reminds her readers that we’re all terminal, and we’ll all ride the grief train sooner or later–so why not start the conversation now?”
